Who we are
Uitgeverij J.H. Gottmer/H.J.W. Becht BV was established in 1940 by the printer Jan Hendrik Gottmer. Records of the Dutch Trade Registry of that period read: ‘J.H. Gottmer (City of Haarlem, The Netherlands) requests legitimization as a publisher. Resolved is to grant this requested legitimization.’
We are now sixty-five years further and Gottmer Publishing Group has grown into a dynamic, versatile and modern concern with a well established and distinguished publisher’s list and thirty people on staff.

What we do
We publish a broad spectrum of popular books under a variety of imprints. The largest groups of our publisher’s lists consist of books for children and young adults (Gottmer) and mind, body & spirit publications (Altamira-Becht).
In terms of nautical books (Hollandia), Gottmer Publishing Group has been the market leader in the Netherlands for years. Moreover, the Dominicus travel guides published by our company are widely used by Dutch and Belgian travellers. However, our publisher’s lists offer even more…
